The Lost Wallet Promise
Wallets can get lost or stolen and it kills us inside to think that our clients would invest in one of our wallets and be left completely unprotected in the case of an unfortunate event. That's why we've created the Lost Wallet Promise. Here is how it works:
To all of our clients; if your wallet is ever stolen or lost due to unfortunate circumstances please contact us at Braithwaite and we would be glad to replace it for you. This is our Lost Wallet Promise and it's only for you, our client.
We've found that our clients are really top-notch, honest people and we have no problems trusting you in this way. In fact, we don't know of another company that does. As all of our wallets are limited edition, the wallet you wish to replace may no longer be in stock in the future. In this event, you will get to choose from any of the wallets that we currently do have in stock.
Sunrise, for the modern man-about-town who considers cash to be extraneous and unnecessary; plastic is all he needs. It's one of our two new front pocket wallets designed for the man who has "lost his taste for wallets". It's simple, slick, and versatile - just like you.
The Layout
In an effort to carry a sizeable sheaf of cards in a small space without creating unsightly bulging, Nick designed Sunrise with opposing directional card-slots to distribute the load evenly when closed. The card-slots are tight enough to make sure that there isn't any accidental spillage of the cards on the opposing side. Because this was an experimental concept, we field tested an early prototype everyday for three months before we were convinced that cards absolutely wouldn't fall out accidentally.
The top flap is magnetically enclosed by a magnet that is of a high enough gauss to stay closed but low enough to ensure the safety of the magnetic strips of your card.
The Leather
Nick is particularly partial to our leather, Satchel. The unique thing about Satchel is that it starts off looking quite plain and ordinary. But, as you carry the wallet with you for over a month, it starts noticeably creasing and aging, making it distinctively yours. Ever since I met Nick, he wanted to do white or cream colored wallets and this is the first in that series.
The Lining
Included in most Braithwaite's is our charmeuse silk lining. The weave of charmeuse has an orientation to it and can be placed horizontally or vertically depending on which purpose it serves. The vertical orientation of the weave in the card slots aids in with the insertion of each card. It feels like microscopic ball-bearings easing the card into the slot. It's quite something!
The Thread
The Sunrise is one of the three wallets in our new series. For this series, we decided to try something new: sewing the whole wallet with bonded KevlarTM thread. For those unfamiliar with the properties of KevlarTM, it is the bullet-proofing in a bullet-proof vest. One thread has the ability to hold 35 lbs. without breaking. As such, we had to give special instructions to our manufacturing team not to try and break the thread with their hands because the thread will cut them!
Magnetic Enclosure
The magnetic enclosure is strong enough to secure the wallet but not demagnetize your cards. In order to de-magnetize your cards, a magnetic power of about 1000 Gauss is required. The magnets in our wallets are ~200-300 Gauss. A pair of 1000 Gauss magnets snapping together would be strong enough to severly pinch the skin.
THE WALLET FOR YOU?
The Sunrise was designed for the man who keeps his things properly organized, maintaining his own personal mise en place. This man can really be anywhere in the world and have all the tools he needs accessible through the cards in his wallet: each card, a symbol of the good relationship he keeps with the people with whom he does business with. Cash truly feels optional.
"Hi Connor,
Hope you're enjoying the long weekend; I just wanted to follow up and let you know The Sunrise arrived today. My compliments to both yourself and Nick, the wallet is marvelous and I couldn't be more pleased. Again, thank you for going the extra mile in every aspect: design, production, communication, and followup.
Best Regards,
Dan"
